Curriculum Overview

The typical four-year curriculum plan at SJN is designed to challenge and expand the minds of our students, encouraging them to reach their full academic potential.

We strive to offer our students a variety of engaging and challenging courses that span all subject areas.

Courses are offered at (3) levels: college preparatory, honors and advanced placement.

Students will take (7) courses each year.

Freshman Year

  • English I
  • Algebra I or Geometry
  • Biology
  • Theology: Roman Catholic Faith
  • World History
  • Spanish I or II
  • Physical Education and Health*

*Students taking Band will complete the PE/Health requirement through FLVS in the summer.

Sophomore Year

  • English II
  • Geometry or Algebra II
  • Chemistry
  • Theology: Old Testament, New Testament
  • Spanish II or III
  • Elective
  • Elective

Junior Year

  • English III or AP English Language
  • Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra/Trigonometry
  • Physics
  • U.S. History
  • Theology: Church History and Morality
  • Elective or Spanish III or AP Spanish Language
  • Elective

Senior Year

  • English IV or AP Literature & Composition
  • College Algebra/Trigonometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB
