Welcome to the Neumann Guidance Department!

At St. John Neumann Catholic High School, we are committed to providing a quality Catholic education to prepare our students for the rigorous college environment they will face.

We are rooted in faith, personal responsibility, and selfless service. When students graduate from Neumann, their resume will have more than just words on a paper; it will contain life experiences of service and academic rigor that will guide students through life.

Personal/Social Guidance

We are a family at SJN. Students are never just a number.

  • SJN offers a lower counselor to student ratio than the average Florida high school
College Guidance

As a school built to prepare students for college, we utilize Naviance, a comprehensive college and career readiness system that helps families connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals.

  • Together, the faculty, administration, and our Guidance Department work with each family to provide a holistic approach to the four years at Neumann
  • Senior Workshop Days are held multiple times throughout the year during the school day to help seniors fill out applications, write college/scholarship essays, and prepare for senior year
  • College Scholars course designed by the Guidance Department for juniors and seniors to allow students time during the school day to learn and prepare for the college application process
  • Junior college visit each fall
  • Numerous college visits on SJN campus with college representatives
  • Annual College Fair held during the school day for all students
  • Scholarship information provided to students through Naviance, along with emails and a weekly newsletter
  • Scholarship help after school and during lunch to ensure all students can receive the assistance they need

  • 1-on-1 personalized guidance that includes: academic progress, college and careers options based on performance and interests, calculation of student’s GPA, review of standardized tests, and more
Career Guidance
