HOUSE PROGRAM

SJN House Program intends to be a dynamic and exciting way to foster a positive climate and culture for students and staff..

What is the House Program?

The St. John Neumann High School House Program creates a dynamic environment to foster community, school spirit, and student development. It organizes students into smaller, close-knit groups, encouraging relationships, character-building, and spiritual growth. Activities like themed events, spirit weeks, and weekly assemblies allow students to engage with each other, show House spirit, and connect with the larger school community. Homerooms are based on these Houses, providing a family-like space for students to bond and participate in faith-based activities. The program also manages Catholic Schools Week to celebrate Catholic education.

Goal of the House Program

The House Program aims to unite students through inclusion, mentoring, and school spirit, creating a positive culture. Activities like homeroom events, sports themes, and student-led initiatives build connections while promoting Catholic values. The program also includes spiritual activities like prayer services and adoration, integrating faith into daily life.

Who Leads the House Program?

The House Council, made up of 40 students, leads the program. It includes 8 House Captains, chosen through a competitive application process, and homeroom leaders who mediate between students and the Council. They work to inspire school spirit and foster leadership and community.

What is the Application Process?

The House Program offers different application processes for various leadership roles. General Council members apply in February by submitting a form detailing their leadership qualities. House Captains go through a rigorous application to select dedicated, spirited leaders. The process encourages students to reflect on their own strengths and contributions to the community.
